Henry Cavill hasn’t always being the incredible hunk he is today. When he entered the thespian scene he was a late teen of average build.
This is a pectoral journey through Henry Cavill‘s career, depicting his transformation from pec-less to pec-perfect. If you’re looking to ogle then you’ve come to the right place, or perhaps you wish to workout like Henry Cavill?
Through this journey you will see pictures of Henry’s transformation over the years, with annotations as to why he attained each muscular perfection.
The Laguna Days
Henry Cavill first entered the scene in the movie Laguna which was unfortunately never released in the cinema or on DVD. Henry was in his late-teens when this was filmed.
Here’s a 5 minute clip of Laguna showing Henry shirtless in a couple of rather raunchy scenes:
As you can see, despite having what would still be deemed a great body, it pales in comparison to the torso he has today.
Getting Ripped for Immortals
The film Immortals was when Henry really began to look ripped. In the clip below from E! Entertainment Television, Mickey Rourke states “Henry Cavill broke his ass. I think he would do 2000 push-ups a day. He would do 2000 push-ups before he’d go to camera. Can you imagine that?“. Mickey then goes on to say “He’s ripped, and the chicks are gonna love him.”
Henry Cavill discusses the jovial rivalry on set amongst the male actors who competed in looking the most muscular.
Unfortunately, Henry remains shirtless in this clip, but the picture to the right depicts his immortal torso at this stage of his career.
In another interview, available here on Youtube, Henry discusses his work out routine leading up to Immortals. He states how his intensive 6 month routine started during his time on The Tudors, initially 2 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the evening, leading to a solid 9 to 5. His training itinerary ranged from body weight and free weights to cardiovascular and martial arts.
It’s obvious from watching Immortals that Henry had spent a great deal of effort on his daily work out, and what a success it was!
Prior to the filming of Superman Man of Steel, Henry really started to bulk up. From the photo to the left you can see he has gained weight, losing some definition to his abs, and is slightly rounder in the face.
From more recent Superman photos you can see he’s been working out once more, tweaking up the tone.
In the photo to the right you can only speculate the muscles beneath the cape, not to mention the ominous bulge.
Surely these Man of Steel Muscles need to be honoured, and worshiped, and lusted after…
All credit to Henry Cavill for such a valiant effort. Roll on Man of Steel so we can ogle some more.
